On Saturday, September 24 from 9:00 a.m. to noon, Lynnhurst residents can bring broken electronics and bags of sensitive “to be shredded” personal papers to Mayflower Church for responsible e-waste disposal and paper shredding.
The Lynnhurst Environmental Committee (LEC) joined in with 15-neighborhood Minneapolis neighborhoods to hire e-waste company Tech Dump and Stericycle Paper Shredding to bring this service to neighbors. The event is free, but a $5 free-will offering is suggested – and if you can – paying $5 for a neighbor who cannot is encouraged.
Please read what Tech Dump will take and their data wiping guarantee. Because this is a first time event and the number of neighborhoods participating, residents may want to plan their trip to Mayflower on the earlier side as we don’t know how many people will participate. For our Lynnhurst neighbors with mobility issues that absolutely inhibit them from getting to the event, volunteer neighbors will provide home pick-ups. Watch for an email from the neighborhood closer to the event for a sign-up opportunity.
