Thursday, November 16 is the official “Give to the Max” Day, but the Give to the Max site is open now. Please consider donating to the Lynnhurst Neighborhood Association, our not-for-profit, non-government organization working for our common interests. On a volunteer basis we actively coordinate this neighborhood’s communication and promote our community’s livability.
Among the communications we use to keep neighbors informed are a quarterly newsletter to every address (Lynnhurst News), periodic e-news updates, and our website devoted to Lynnhurst residents (lynnhurst.org), all of which better connect us to Minneapolis as a whole.
We sponsor the Lynnhurst Summer Festival as well as other events that combine fun (for example, annual ice cream social and garage sale) with education (history walks, new solar energy technologies and options), and eco-environmental improvement (sustainable garden grants). We also help local businesses (facade restoration grants) and residents (security technology partial rebates) during these turbulent times.
While we do it on a voluntary basis, all these activities cost money. Meanwhile the City of Minneapolis has seriously reduced the neighborhood organization funds on which we have relied for over 40 years and encouraged us to work toward raising our own funds.
We urge you to strongly consider donating to the Lynnhurst Neighborhood Association right now at https://www.givemn.org/organization/Lynnhurst-Neighborhood-Association.
