Want to take a closer look at the marvelous sites around Lake Harriet? Join Mark Raderstorf, longtime Lynnhurst resident and Chief Fun Officer for You Betcha Tours, on a walking tour around our beloved Lake Harriet. We will do a deep dive into how Lake Harriet became the treasured day trip for city dwellers in the 19th century, and how icons such as the Lake Harriet Rose Garden and Bandshell emerged. You will learn about the history of the Minneapolis Parks, how it took root long before homes were built, and the people behind the vision and development of the parks. This tour will feature stops at Lake Harriet Bandshell, the Rose Garden, and, if the LH trolley is running, we will visit the site of the Dakota village of Eatonville along Bde Maka Ska. We will meet at the Rose Garden and conclude at the Bandshell, and perhaps grab a refreshment at Bread and Pickle. Walking Distance will be up to 2 miles.
