Lynnhurst Spring Forum on March 14: Don’t be Trashy

Join us at the Lynnhurst Community Center on March 14 from 9:30-11:00 a.m. for our Spring Forum: Don’t be Trashy. View the presentation slides here.

Our speaker will be Angiulo Damiani, a lifelong Minneapolitan, a part-time community organizer and a full-time trash talker. Angiulo graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Environmental Science. He spent time volunteering and canvassing while working in the service industry and then obtained a job as a solid waste planning consultant and in his words “Became too familiar with the waste industry”. He worked two years there and learned a lot before being hired by the City of Minneapolis as a Recycling Program Assistant. In this role he educates the public on how to properly dispose of their waste, ensures that apartment buildings are providing recycling services to their residents and creates new programs to achieve zero waste goals for the city of Minneapolis.

Angiulo will be joined by Kellie Kish and they will address all aspects of recycling in Minneapolis from plastics to organics and share the newest information on the Green to Go packaging ordinance and updates on the implementation of the State’s Extended Producer Responsibility law for packaging. Bring your questions and concerns and get an authoritative update on the latest efforts to move Minneapolis toward zero waste.

There will be door prizes and refreshments will be served.
